  This week we got another 5 day school week after some half days in the previous one. I finished my second chapter and started/ continued with the previously started third chapter. Rekha teacher also came for my second observation during this week. I was already continuing with my history portion when the previous week ended. This week I started with the same history chapter, India the land of synthesis, finished it and continued with my third chapter which is related to the democracy and election system in India. The second chapter which was in history, which I found very interesting and convenient to teach has entered giving me some current relevant topics to discuss in the classroom. Rekha teacher came for my observation of history chapter where I was dealing with the architecture and art of medieval period of India.   The second week of teaching practice was a little bit more eye opener compared to the first week. All of us including me, are getting acquainted with the extra duties that a teacher has to do along with the classes and completing lesson plans. It seems like none of us are getting enough time to sit down and engage within ourselves. During this week I finished my first assigned lesson and started with the next chapter. But I was requested to finish another chapter which the previous teacher has left halfway. So after taking one lesson plan from my second chapter I had to skip and go to the third one. But it look like a voice a decision as the students will be more in line and comfortable finishing a previously halfway left than starting a new one. On 14th many teachers were absent due to teacher training program that is ongoing by SCERT. The day was also children's Day commemorating the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru.   The phase 1 of teaching practice started on November 6 2023. Me  and 9 other of my classmates are assigned to BNV Boys HS Section, Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram. I have already collected the portions by previous month. I am expected to teach class 9 C in Malayalam medium for the subject social science. Since this was the first week I am still getting acquainted with the class, students, teachers, and official settings of a school. It's your essay very good opportunity and being a boy school, I expect a little bit of challenge in managing discipline of the class. My class has 20 boys who come from various backgrounds. It is unfortunate that most of the students doesn't know how to write or read Malayalam properly, even though they are studying in 9th standard.
