Innovative Aid on മധ്യകാല കേരളത്തിലെ കച്ചവട ബന്ധങ്ങൾ.
An innovative aid in education refers to tools, materials, or methods that are creatively designed to enhance the teaching and learning process. These aids are typically characterized by their novelty and effectiveness in engaging students and facilitating better understanding of the subject matter. Examples of innovative aids include interactive aids, AR, VR, Gamification, etc
Innovative aids leverage technology and modern teaching methodologies to create dynamic and effective learning environments, catering to diverse learning styles and needs.
An aid is considered innovative in education when it incorporates certain characteristics that distinguish it from traditional methods and tools. These characteristics include creativity, novelty, interactivity, technology integration, personalisation, multimedia use, etc. By incorporating these characteristics, an aid can significantly enhance the teaching and learning process, making it more effective, engaging, and relevant for students.
For the Innovative Aid work during my first phase of teaching practise at BNV V&HSS for BOYS, Thiruvallam, I made a moving man model on the trade relations of the Middle Age Kerala businesspeople. It is basically a market classification as - പ്രാദേശിക കച്ചവടം, ദൂരദേശ കച്ചവടം, വിദേശ കച്ചവടം , based on the distance and the items dealt with on each market. This was a repeating question, but students used to make mistakes on the nomenclature, and the items deal with. The model was a simple one, with a man moving, who was supposed to represent a business man of middle ages in Kerala. As the man moved further and further, the background colour changed, denoting to change in the market and items dealt with.
Students showed an engaging and positive response to the aid. The objectives with which the aid was created was met during the presentation. Combined with the presentation on the chart, students were eager to know more and kept asking doubts about the portion.
Overall, I felt much confident in the aid I could present and that the content has been successfully transmitted to the students.
