Weekly Reflection of Teaching Practise - Week 11 (January 29- February 02 2024)


Streak of this teaching practice was of course hazel free for me, since I had only a little portion left to finish and enough classes to do that. Most of my portions are over and activities have been finished. I was stress free even though my physical well being was not on point. I made soverniers for my fellow teacher training to remember the good days we spend here and they way they supported me through the crucial phase of my pregnancy and physical well being. It was a delight in itself.

I finished my chapters by 31st of January. I had three more days left which meant by classes to do divisions and finish the note giving of these chapters. I was able to manage them well enough.
Even though I am not expected to feel so I was extremely relieved that the face has came to an end especially due to my physical health issues. It was an emotional week also since the teachers we wear working along side for the past 45 + days made us Soya biryani and payasam specially to appreciate our efforts in keeping the school running smoothly. We were touched by their act.


Students also shower dress with a lot of love and gifts during the last day. We gave them laddoos for their cooperation and wished them all the best.


To summarize in a few words during this teaching practice I realised what kind of a teacher I am. I like to present things in a way that connect social science syllabus to the present and real world around the students. I am more interested in using ICT teaching aids like videos, film clippings trolls and memes comma to make students understand what I am trying to convey rather than the traditional teaching aid techniques.


I have also realised that my teaching style is that of a tuition centre since I have worked previously on such scenarios, and I have to work a lot on that. This phase of teaching practice did surely teach us a lot and me in particular. Teachers were very cooperative and insightful.


I am sure this phase will be an asset in the teaching career I might purse  in future.

Weekly Reflection of Teaching Practise - Week 1 (November 06- November 10 2023)

  The phase 1 of teaching practice started on November 6 2023. Me  and 9 other of my classmates are assigned to BNV Boys HS Section, Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram. I have already collected the portions by previous month. I am expected to teach class 9 C in Malayalam medium for the subject social science. Since this was the first week I am still getting acquainted with the class, students, teachers, and official settings of a school. It's your essay very good opportunity and being a boy school, I expect a little bit of challenge in managing discipline of the class. My class has 20 boys who come from various backgrounds. It is unfortunate that most of the students doesn't know how to write or read Malayalam properly, even though they are studying in 9th standard. "പൊലിക പൊലിക" - Digital Album on Performing arts (Theyyam)

As part of the third semester school based works of B.Ed curriculum prescribed by the University of Kerala, the teacher trainings are expected to create a digital album, based on any performing arts. I selected 'Theyyam'. Theyyam is a revered ritualistic dance form practiced in the states of Kerala and Karnataka, steeped in ancient traditions and customs dating back thousands of years. Regarded as a sacred channel to the divine, Theyyam holds immense significance for the local communities, who seek blessings and guidance through its performances.
