Weekly Reflection of Teaching Practise - Week 2 (June 10- June 15 2024)

The second phase of teaching practice started on Monday - 10th of June 2024. During the first day itself I met with the social science teacher of HS- Lal Shaji Sir, who have given me the additional responsibility of class IX, and detailed him about the status of classes until then. I had two classes that day, and the children were very energetic. I had one more extra class in IX B during the last hour. I used ICT today for teaching Mesolithic Age, and it was interactive and enjoyed by the students.

The second day of the week- 11.6.2024 also went eventless. I started Neolithic Revolution today, using roleplay and teaching aids.Introduced some important people associated to the phase, such as Gordon Childe. Reviewing previous classes' knowledge through review questions in between proved much useful and gave me an idea about how much children are catching on what I am giving out.

On Wednesday, I had two classes- one in 8C and another one in 9B. I finished Neolithic Revolution at 8C, and for 9B, this was my last class as the new teacher trainees from St.Thomas College, Mukkolakkal was joining tomorrow. We did a revision of whatever have been taught so far there, and I could collect my research data from the class.

I dont have a class on thursday, so I was entirely free. I chose to sit in the auditorium rather than climbing three floors up and down multiple times, considering my health condition. I was amused by the new technology introduced to schools these days and how well they are being utilised at the primary and upper primary levels. I also got aquainted with some new trainees from Mar Theophilius and St. Thomas college.

On Friday, Rekha teacher came for the first observation and it went well. Teacher wrote good remarks, and suggested me to use more English since it is English medium class. On saturday, we were not initially expected to go, but the school had working days due to recent circular. eventhough we were present, the classroom toll was very less and hence it wasnt possible to take a lesson plan today. Instead, I gave notes, and stayed in the clasroom.

The week 2 of teaching practise was subtle, but was slowly making me sync in as a teacher of the school.
