The week 4 of teaching practice phase 2 started with an observation from Rekha teacher. Teacher was concerned about me not getting enough classes and as I already discussed this with the concerned teacher, I was alloted the IT periods, on a condition that some hours might be handled by the sir himself. The class wasn't up to my expectations as my time management failed. I was more concerned about the small content I was managing, but ended up taking up a lot of time, which made me not getting time for review questions and consolidation.  On Tuesday, there was a KSU strike, but the students were mostly present, which gave me two periods and I could take proper lessons. I could take classes on the Harappan civilisation today. Also, there was a note book distribution by the Peroorkada Service Cooperative Bank in the school.  On Wednesday(26/6), there was an SPC cadet's special assembly on Drug abuse day. Elaborate assembly programs were conducted which also included dance...

This week we got another 5 day school week eventhough the first day of the week was a holiday. Monday was a holiday due to Eid celebrations. But Saturday was a working day as per the recent government order of 220 working days. The heavy rains are accompanying the days which is affecting the class attendance, making it hard to take Lesson plans properly.  This week, the school functioning has become more clear to me. I find this school extremely innovative and thriving. Assemblies are conducted on all special days. This week, assembly was conducted on the occassion of Reading day, and for Yoga day (June 21). Also, on every day noon 1pm, the school conducts a special assembly session where some kind of recreational and productive program for the children is conducted. This week, speeches, poster making competition, drawing competition, etc were conducted.  I got only 2 classes this week, which is very concerning. Since my classes are on first period, which gets easily aff...

During the first day itself I met with the social science teacher of HS- Lal Shaji Sir, who have given me the additional responsibility of class IX, and detailed him about the status of classes until then. I had two classes that day, and the children were very energetic. I had one more extra class in IX B during the last hour. I used ICT today for teaching Mesolithic Age, and it was interactive and enjoyed by the students. The second day of the week- 11.6.2024 also went eventless. I started Neolithic Revolution today, using roleplay and teaching aids.Introduced some important people associated to the phase, such as Gordon Childe. Reviewing previous classes' knowledge through review questions in between proved much useful and gave me an idea about how much children are catching on what I am giving out. On Wednesday, I had two classes- one in 8C and another one in 9B. I finished Neolithic Revolution at 8C, a...

The phase 2 of teaching practice started on June 5 2024, Wednesday. Me  and 3 other of my classmates are assigned to Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Peroorkada, Thiruvananthapuram. I have already collected the portions by previous month. I am expected to teach class 8C in English medium for the subject social science. Since this was the first week I am still getting acquainted with the class, students, teachers, and official settings of a school. It's your essay very good opportunity and being a girls school, I expect a little bit of challenge in managing discipline of the class. My class has 47 girl students who come from various backgrounds. Primarily, the class seems like a very enthusiastic and cooperating one. Especially since I am sick and have health issues I was worried about the physical stress I might have to put in throughout the class. I go prepared everyday to take at least three classes with all the materials and lesson plan. My concern teacher,...
